Thursday, 7 May 2020 prayer   youth   coronavirus

Abidjan (Agenzia Fides) - "We have decided to pray the Rosary through the city, on the one hand to show the face of the Church, which is certainly confined (due to the Coronavirus) but whose voice is not silent, and on the other hand to revitalize hope with Mary, the Hope of Christians", said Fr. Franck Hermann Soko, diocesan chaplain of the youth ministry of Yopougon and vicar of the parish of Saint John the Baptist in Yopougon Mamie Adjoua.
On May 1st, in line with Pope Francis' vision for the month of May 2020, Fr. Franck Hermann Soko recited the rosary with the youth in the streets of his parish territory. "This action also aimed to show young people the importance of the month dedicated to the Virgin and that we should pray the Rosary at home, within the family, together with our brothers and sisters", the chaplain underlined to the young people.
A call that had a favorable response among young people; Arnaud Fidèle Kouassi president of the PPJ, parish pastoral ministry for the youth of the parish, expressed his joy in participating in this event of meditation and prayer; "it was a new experience; personally I did not pray the Rosary, but with this initiative I made the commitment to do it", he confided.
