Yamoussoukro (Agenzia Fides) - The Episcopal Conference of the Ivory Coast through its national subcommittee Justice and Peace organized from 3 to 6 March a training formation on the social doctrine of the Church, destined for about fifty pastoral operators from the 15 dioceses in the Country.
"By offering this formation, the Bishops wholeheartedly hope that pastoral operators are increasingly involved in the life of the society in which they find themselves", said Fr. Emmanuel Wohi Nin, Secretary General of the Episcopal Conference. "The Bishops want pastoral operators to be present in public debates, which concern the Ivorian nation", he added.
According to the National Executive Secretary of the Justice and Peace Commission, Fr. Charles Olidjo Siwa, the formation course will allow participants to "understand why the Church, which has a spiritual mission, is very interested in the life of society". Specifically, the second day of the works will focus on the "electoral process so that Christians, pastoral operators can see how they can positively participate in the creation of a peaceful electoral process".
