AFRICA/CENTRAL AFRICAN REP. - Appointment of the National Director of the PMS, Fr. Innocent Blaise Ndongbo

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On 5 December 2019 Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed Fr. Innocent Blaise Ndongbo, of the diocesan clergy of Bangassou as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in the Central African Republic for a five-year period (2019-2024).
The new National Director was born in Mabo on May 1, 1979 and was ordained a priest in Bangassou Cathedral on November 20, 2005. After primary school he attended the St. Louis minor Seminary in Bangassou, then the intermediate Seminary in Bangui, he studied philosophy and theology at the St. Marc Major Seminary in Bangui-Bimbo. He specialized in dogmatic theology at the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome. He has held various positions: deputy parish priest and parish priest, diocesan responsible for the formation of catechists and the diocesan Commission for Catechesis and the Biblical Apostolate, spiritual director at the "Missionary of Mercy" minor Seminary of Bangassou, established by Pope Francis on February 10, 2016.
