AFRICA/BURKINA FASO - Appointment of the Rector of the "Saints Peter and Paul" philosophical seminary in Ouagadougou

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On 25 April 2019 Card. Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed Rector of the "Saints Peter and Paul" inter-diocesan major philosophical Seminary in the archdiocese of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, the rev. Guy Mukasa Sanon, of the archdiocesan clergy of Bobo-Dioulasso.
The new Rector was born on 14 September 1968 in Toussiana (Burkina Faso) and was ordained a priest in 1996. He went to the minor Seminary of Naxos (Bobo-Dioulasso), the "Saint Jean" major Seminary (Ouagadougou) and the Koumi major Seminary. He holds a degree in Philosophy from the Université Catholique de l'Afrique de l'Ouest (Abidjan, Ivory Coast) and a doctorate in Philosophy and Letters from the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium). After his priestly ordination he was parish vicar, parish priest of the Cathedral of Bobo-Dioulasso, formator at the minor Seminary of Naxos, professor and formator in the seminary of which he was appointed rector.
