AMERICA/PERU - 1st annual meeting of Missionary Youth pastoral delegates will examine progress made and draft plan of formation and action

Wednesday, 15 February 2006

Lima (Fides Service) - Lima will host 1st annual meeting of Missionary Youth pastoral delegates 25 and 26 February organised by SENAJUMI the national office for Missionary Youth, part of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Peru.
The meeting has three goals: examine the present missionary situation; organise and improve the activity of Missionary Youth pastoral at the national level; encourage, integrate and accompany youth in their missionary endeavours; promote the inclusion of Missionary Youth pastoral in ordinary pastoral. SENAJUMI has invited youth groups, movements, congregations, parishes, lay associations and missionary institutes to take part, to draft conclusions and adopt concrete resolutions for the good of the missionary Church in Peru.
During the meeting the young people will listen to reports on mission activity in their respective regions, share their own experience and assess the work of Missionary Youth in the individual dioceses, identify lines of action, draft a plan for integral formation and pinpoint concrete gaols, short term, medium and long term. It will be an opportunity to strengthen communion among young people involved in missionary activity.
The purpose of SENAJUMI, a fruit of the 3rd National Missionary Youth Congress in 2004, is to promote missionary animation, build a national network of communication and organise Missionary Youth Pastoral in Peru. (RG) (Agenzia Fides 15/2/2006 - righe 19, parole 222)
