Taipei (Fides Service) - On the occasion of the recent World Day of the Sick (11 February) the Catholic Friends of the Sick Association in Taiwan started its annual meeting to discuss pastoral activities for the new year. According to the Taipei diocesan bulletin Christian Life Weekly, under the guidance of spiritual director Fr. Anthonius Lin OFM, the association leading members discussed the following points: assess last year’s activity; discuss collaboration and communion with other Catholic associations and bodies; present the work of volunteers in hospital prayer rooms; discuss new projects; launch a Catholic Friends of the Sick Association web site .
Last year on the occasion of World Day of the Sick the Catholic Friends of the Sick Association organised a series of initiatives including special prayers with and for the sick; a series of seminars on the spirituality of communion; in hospital prayer rooms, a service of moral support and comfort for patients, families and medical staff.
