Abidjan (Agenzia Fides) - "Communion at the service of reconciliation". This is the theme of the 114th Plenary Assembly of the Episcopal Conference of the Ivory Coast, which will be held from 13 to 19 January, at the Lataha Center of Korhogo, in the north of the country.
Fr. Emmanuel Wohi Nin, Secretary General of the Episcopal Conference, announced that during the Assembly the Bishops will reflect on a pastoral letter on reconciliation, "which will constitute the main aspect of the Plenary Assembly", at the end of which a message will be addressed to all Ivorians. The letter itself will be published some time after the conclusion of the meeting.
Another topic on the agenda is "the protocol on the protection of minors and vulnerable people", according to the indications of Pope Francis who hoped that each Episcopal Conference will equip itself with such a document. Finally, the draft framework agreement between the Holy See and the Republic of the vory Coast will be discussed. At the end of the meeting, a final press release will be made public during the closing mass next Sunday, January 19. (S.S) (Agenzia Fides, 13/1/2020)
