Kolowaré (Agenzia Fides) - "One had to be present to be immersed in the prayerful atmosphere, imbued with faith, of that moment. The Missionary Month and Rosary Month of October 2019 represented a time of intense prayer, a time of grace", said Father Silvano Galli, a priest of the Society for African Missions in Togo, to Agenzia Fides.
"On October 1st, in our mission of Kolowarè, we began the Missionary Month and Month of the Rosary in front of Mary cave. For the first day, the five base communities all met in front of the cave and in the following days each community prayed in their respective neighborhood", says the missionary".
"The conclusion of the celebrations was even more solemn and impressive than the opening. There was a vast assembly of faithful in front of the cave. Each believer carried two candles. The prayer was animated by the Blue Army, a prayer group linked to Fatima. At the end, everyone lit a candle and started a series of songs for Mary.
Every year we celebrate a ceremony to remember the dead. After the communion, a basin full of sand is placed in front of the altar. The catechist proclaims the name of the deceased who died since the beginning of the year. At the end of the prayer, the faithful then went to the two cemeteries of the village to bless the graves and pray for all those who rest there". (SG/AP) (Agenzia Fides, 6/11/2019)
