Freiburg (Agenzia Fides) - The mission is at the center of the 11th Forum "Church of Freiburg in the world" which takes place at the University of Friborg on 10 and 11 October. This meeting, on the occasion of the Extraordinary Missionary Month announced by Pope Francis, has the theme "Baptized and sent: what Gospel and what Church for today's world?" It is organized by the Institute for the Study of Religions and Interreligious Dialogue (IRD), by the Center for Comparative Pastoral Studies (CEPC) and by the Faith and Society Center of the Faculty of Theology.
According to information sent to Fides by cath.ch News, starting from the statement that the Church is missionary by nature, as the Second Vatican Council declared, we want to ask ourselves about the current meaning of this statement, in an era of radical changes, marked by religious pluralism, religious freedom, crisis of credibility of the Church and the idea of mission. Several qualified speakers will try to answer this question, including Archbishop Albert Rouet, Archbishop Emeritus of Poitiers. A round table will see the participation of representatives of different Churches. (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 9/10/2019)
