ASIA/IRAQ - Hundreds of participants in the "Youth Meeting" organized by the Chaldean Church

Ankawa (Agenzia Fides) - The "2019 Youth Meeting" organized by the Chaldean Church in Ankawa - a suburb of Erbil, in the autonomous region of Iraqi Kurdistan, ended on August, 24 with a solemn mass and then a moment of celebration. Hundreds of Iraqi boys and girls took part in the meeting, along with priests, men and women religious, and teachers from all over Iraq.
The program of the meeting included moments of prayer and Eucharistic adoration, penitential celebrations and moments of reflection led by the Jesuit fathers starting from the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Christus vivit, published by Pope Francis after the Synod dedicated to the theme "young people, faith and vocational discernment". On Friday, August 23, the central moment of the meeting's works coincided with the report on the theme "Can the Church trust young people? carried out by Archbishop Bashar Warda, at the head of the Chaldean archbishopry of Erbil.
