Bangui (Agenzia Fides) - The religious organizations that support the political agreement for peace and reconciliation in the Central African Republic and the Finn Church Aid met from 30 to 1 August to prepare for the next World Peace Assembly meetings that will be held held in Germany.
The round table is a first step in defining a road map and better coordination among religious actors in the Central African Republic, in order to facilitate multi-religious dialogue for the implementation of the political agreement for peace in the Central African Republic signed in February (see Fides, 5/2/2019)
"Religious actors become actors of lasting peace in the Country, so as to foster a stable environment that allows the reconstruction of the social fabric", said William Renoux, coordinator of the "Right to Peace" program of the Finn Church Aid.
"This seminar allows religious leaders in the Central African Republic to establish what message they will bring to other religious leaders at the World Assembly of Religions in Germany", added Renoux.
The 10th World Assembly of Religions for Peace (an event held every 6 years), will take place from 20 to 23 August 2019 in Lindau, Germany, with the participation of 800 world religious personalities. During the meeting, there will be a special session on the Central African Republic in which the Central African religious leaders will share their experience with the other participants. "It is essential that religious leaders are involved in the Political Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation Process and dialogue efforts. Through this seminar we will try to gather the energies of the different religious actors so that they can contribute and stimulate a good dynamic of peace", concludes Renoux.
