Yamoussoukro (Agenzia Fides) – To improve coordination between diocesan Caritas, carry out a check and evaluation of projects, pay more attention to the analysis of budgets for an efficient management of the project: these are the commitments undertaken by the diocesan Caritas of the Ivory Coast at the end of their meeting held in Yamoussoukro on 11 and 12 July. As the note sent to Agenzia Fides informs, the executive secretaries, program directors and financial managers of the diocesan Caritas had the opportunity to summarize the main results achieved, analyze the major obstacles in order to propose suitable solutions, and review the strategic 2018-2023 plan.
Faced with the important challenges of the coming years, Mgr. Alexis Touabli Youlo, Bishop of the Diocese of Agboville and Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Yamoussoukro, had words of gratitude for these charity workers. "Thank you for the work you do in the context of social pastoral, which is not only remarkable but necessary", he said. Always addressing those who work in the Caritas network in the Catholic Church in the Ivory Coast, Mgr. Alexis added that they are at the center of the Church's raison d'être, because "those who say Caritas, say charity. Who says charity, says love, and love is the essential of all the mysteries of our faith. It is on love that we will be judged. Caritas is the implementation of love, so we can say that you are at the center of the Church's reason for being".
Father Jean Pierre Tiemele, National Executive Secretary of Caritas Ivory Coast, expressed his gratitude to the participants of the meeting for "for their active and enriching contribution at the service of the brothers and sisters in difficulty", (SS/SL) (Agenzia Fides, 19/7/2019)
