AFRICA/IVORY COAST - Appointment of the Bishop of Bondoukou

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father Francis has appointed Rev. Bruno Essoh Yedoh, of the clergy of Yopougon, currently Vicar General, as Bishop of the Diocese of Bondoukou (Ivory Coast).
The rev. Bruno Essoh Yedoh was born on 17 February 1963 in Orbaff in the Prefecture of Dabou, territory of the diocese of Yopougon. He completed his studies at the Saint Joseph Intermediate Seminary in Yopougon. He studied theology at the Saint Cœur de Marie Major Seminary in Anyama. He obtained a Licentiate in Philosophy at the Institut Catholique de Paris in October 1998. He was ordained a priest on 8 December 1990 for the Diocese of Yopougon.
Since his priestly ordination he has carried out the following roles: Professor at the Saint Augustin Minor Seminary in Bingerville (1990-1992); Professor in the Saint Joseph Intermediate Seminary of Bouaké (1992-1994); Licentiate in Philosophy at the Institut Catholique in Paris (1994-1998); Chaplain and responsible for the pastoral care of high schools and colleges of Dabou (1998-2000); Parish priest of the Parish of the Immaculate Conception of Dabou (2000-2004); Parish priest of the Saint André Cathedral of Yopougon (2004-2010); Parish priest of Saint Matthieu Parish in Niangon Cité Verte, Yopougon 2010-2015; Parish priest of Saint Matthieu Parish in Niangon Cité Verte, Yopougon (2010-2015); since 2015 Parish Priest of the Parish of Saint Pierre, South Niangon, Yopougon; since 2016 Vicar General of the Diocese of Yopougon.
