EUROPE/SPAIN - Missionology Symposium: "Pope Francis’ missionary appeal" in the face of the Extraordinary Missionary Month

Burgos (Agenzia Fides) - Promoted by the Faculty of Theology of Northern Spain, today the 29th Symposium of Missionology in Burgos begins, under the theme "Pope Francis’ missionary appeal" before the Extraordinary Missionary Month of October 2019 .
The works were inaugurated by the Archbishop of Burgos and Grand Chancellor of the Faculty of Theology, Mgr. Fidel Herraez Vegas. Two speeches followed, dedicated to the figure and thought of Pope Francis and his missionary appeal (Antonio Gonzalez Mohino and Fausto Franco Martinez), and to the Pope's missionary paradigm (Eloy Bueno de la Fuente). In the afternoon there will be a round table on missionary animation in view of the Missionary Month of October. Tomorrow, March 8, two speeches will be held in the morning: "The Pope’s 'dream': mission, paradigm of every work of the Church" by prof. Roberto Calvo Perez, director of the Institute of Missionology, and "The Extraordinary Missionary Month: a kairos for the Church", by Fr. Fabrizio Meroni, Secretary General of the Pontifical Missionary Union, Director of Ciam and Fides. In the afternoon: a round table on the Missionary Disciples ad gentes will be held. On Saturday 9 the conclusion of the work with the speech on the "missionary dimension of the Pope's travels" (Fernando Susaeta Montoya) and that on the "keys to missionary spirituality in Pope Francis" (Lino Herrero Prieto).
