Opole (Agenzia Fides) - The summary of the activities carried out last year by the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) of the individual dioceses and the initiatives for the next Extraordinary Missionary Month were the main topics of the meeting of the National Council of the PMS of Poland in which more than 40 diocesan directors from 32 dioceses took part, in addition to the members of the National Direction.
Gathered at the Shrine of St. Anne, in the diocese of Opole, from February 18 to 20, members of the National Council reviewed the most relevant missionary activities that were carried out locally. The materials prepared by the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples and by the National Direction of the PMS for the Extraordinary Missionary Month were presented by Fr. Tomasz Atłas, PMS National Director, and by Fr. Maciej Będziński, National Secretary of POSPA and POPF. A special unit was created to coordinate the preparation and events of the Extraordinary Missionary Month in the office of the National Direction (link:https://missio.org.pl/pontyfikat/nadzwyczajny-miesiac-misyjny).

Andrzej Czaja, in the homily of the Mass celebrated in the Shrine of St. Anne, addressed the diocesan Directors of the PMS thanking them for their work in the dioceses and urging them to continue to participate enthusiastically in the missionary activity of the church. The priests responsible for the missionary animation in the country were also received by Archbishop Alfons Nossol.
"We thank the Lord for all he does for us, for the grace of faith and for participating in the evangelization of the world", said Fr. Tomasz Atłas, PMS National Director, at the end of the meeting, inviting everyone to trust and open themselves to the action of the Holy Spirit, which constantly revives, sanctifies and guides the Church.
