AFRICA/CAMEROON - Appointment of the Rector of the "Notre Dame de l'Espérance" Major Seminary in the Archdiocese of Bertoua

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On 20 September 2018 Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed the rev. Elie Kengne, of the diocesan clergy of Batouri, as Rector of the Interdiocesan Major Theological Seminary "Notre Dame de l'Espérance" in the Archdiocese of Bertoua, in Cameroon.
The new Rector was born November 29, 1968 and was ordained a priest on July 7, 2001 in Batouri.
He studied philosophy and theology at the Saint Augustin Major Seminary in Maroua. He obtained a licentiate and a doctorate in biblical theology at the Pontifical Urbaniana University of Rome. He was a parish administrator, parish priest and a member of the presbyteral council. Since 2017 he was a member of the team of formators, professor of theology, prefect of studies of the "Notre Dame de l'Espérance" major Seminary. (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 22/2/2019)
