VATICAN - Spirituality of Communion theme of annual retreat for priest-students at Pontifical College San Paolo in Rome

Vatican City (Fides Service) - Spirituality of Communion was the theme of the annual retreat organised 2-6 January for priest-students from mission territories residing for the academic year 2005-2006 at the Pontifical College of S. Paolo in Rome. This year’s retreat was preached by priests members of the Focolari Movement Rev Mario Bodega, Rev Enrico Pepe and Mgr Gregorio Lingua. A novelty feature of the retreat, a concert performed by Carlo Josè Seno and dedicated to the life and witness of the late Vietnamese Cardinal Francois Xavier Nguyen Van Thuan, was warmly applauded by the whole community. The retreat organised by Fr Giovanni Marconcini newly appointed spiritual director at the College was well attended. The College is dependent on the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, and this year it hosts 189 priest-students from 52 mission territories sent by their respective bishops for further studies in Rome.
