ASIA/TURKEY - Appointment of the National Director of the PMS, Fr. Adrian Loza, OFM

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On 6 September 2018 Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed the rev. Fr. Adrian Loza, OFM as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in Turkey for five years (2018-2023).
The new National Director is 48 years old and has been a priest for 16 years. He was born in Rio Quarto (Argentina). He holds a university degree and is a professor of philosophy at the Catholic University of Cuyo. He carried out studies on the management of education and schools. He was Provincial Secretary OFM (2004-2007), member of the Provincial Education Commission, he worked in the educational management of schools (2000-2013). A missionary in Turkey, in Istanbul, in the International Fraternity for ecumenical and interreligious dialogue, after a year spent in Italy, in 2017 he returned to Turkey. He currently lives in Samsun, where he is responsible for the community that takes care of the assistance of Christian refugee families. (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 8/11/2018)
