ASIA/HONG KONG - Justice and Peace Commission organises Seminar to reflect on 40 years of implementation of Gaudium et Spes and new challenges

Hong Kong (Fides) - Forty years since the publication of one of the most important and well known documents issued by the Second Vatican Council, the Constitution Gaudium et Spes, the Justice and Peace Commission of Hong Kong diocese recently reflected on the reception and implementation of the Constitution. According to the diocesan bulletin Kong Ko Bao the Commission invited experts, theologians and pastoral workers from all over the territory to a seminar to reflect on the theme: “40 years of implementing Gaudium et Spes in the Church in Hong Kong and new challenges”. Conferences included analysis from various points of view and the main topics were An Introduction to Gaudium et Spes” by Mrs Chan; “Analysing Gaudium et Spes from the human rights point of view” Rev. Thomas Kwan Tsun Tong; “Analysing Gaudium et Spes from the political point of view” Rev. Louis Ha Ke Loon; “Analysing Gaudium et Spes from the point of view of economic justice and work” Mrs Mary Yuen, researcher at Holy Spirit Seminary; “Reasons for difficult application of Gaudium et Spes and for indifference”, Mrs Jackie Hung.
