ASIA/TAIWAN - Fu Ren Catholic University organises Christmas Market a moment of Chinese/German cultural exchange

Taipei (Fides Service) - In view of Christmas Fu Ren Catholic University in Taipei has inaugurated a special Christmas Market. The occasion is also the 80th anniversary of the foundation the famous University and the purpose is to promote exchange between Chinese and German culture and collect funds in aid of poor students,
According to Christian Life Weekly published by the archdiocese of Taipei, the Christmas Market is promoted by the University’s German Language faculty in collaboration with the Sisters Missionary Servants of the Holy Spirit, the female community of the Divine Word Missionaries .
The Market has been set in a Home built by Divine Word missionaries in 1960 and still run by the Sisters. Today the directress is Sr. Leonora Sudhoff who supervised the organisation with Fr P. James Vyathappan, Superior of the Divine Word Community and Rector of the University .
