Rome (Agenzia Fides) - The Italian national Holy Childhood Office has produced a Mission Kit to teach children to live mission in daily life. The kit ‘Missionary Kid’, available on request suggests little ways for children to be missionary and how to be “together for mission”. Prayers, telling about Jesus, sharing-helping and dialogue are the four dimensions of Missionary Kid kit made concrete with games. Every boy and girl who receives a kit at home learns how to
: - pray with the Holy Childhood children all over the world PRAYER NETWORK “world under construction” : different groups of 10 Holy Childhood children will pray for children in one particular mission country;
- tell a friend about Jesus PASS THE WORD: a calendar with a daily Gospel verse to be read and given to a person encountered on that day;
- share and help: SAVE THE WORLD pencil-shape money-box for small coins to help fund great projects of solidarity;
- make friends with immigrant children WORLD CHILDREN, how to organise a party around 19 May, birthday of Holy Childhood: typical national games, multiethnic tea-party, photo, stories to discover the treasures of all different cultures.
The aim of the kit is to teach children to be missionaries. Diocesan Mission Centres, PMS delegates and leaders may view the kit on request.
