Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On 26 April 2018 Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed the rev. Fr. Santiago Alberto Beltran Vergara, of the diocesan clergy of Chitré, as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in Panama for five years (2018-2023).
The new National Director of the PMS was born on 2 March 1973 and has been a priest for 7. He belongs to the clergy of the diocese of Chitré. He holds a diploma in Education at the University of Panama. He has been a consultant for the missions in his diocese and is currently a consultant for education and Parish priest of the Nuestra Señora de la Asunciόn parish in Chitré.
