Paris (Agenzia Fides) - The PMS diocesan Directors who will be in Paris on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 January. This national meeting will bring together all those involved in missionary animation in the 99 French dioceses, and will also be the occasion to share news and information related to the ongoing pastoral missionary.
As Pope Francis pointed out, during the Audience of the Pontifical Mission Societies, on 4 June 2016, "the mission builds up the Church and keeps her faithful to the saving will of God. For this reason, while it is important that you worry about the collection and allocation of the funds that you diligently administer in favour of the many churches and many needy Christians, a service for which I thank you, I urge you not to limit yourself to this aspect alone. We need “mystique”. We need to grow in evangelizing passion".
During the meeting the details of the first international PMS pilgrimage to Lourdes will also be illustrated, on the 160th anniversary of the apparitions, which will be held from 22 to 25 May. This will be an opportunity, as the note sent to Fides points out, to "live this great time of prayer to revitalize our missionary commitment ... to live this time of grace at the school of Mary. May Our Lady of Lourdes help us to recharge our batteries, to listen to Christ and to start again with new impetus for the mission of the universal Church". Some National Directorates of the PMS have already confirmed their participation: Togo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Central African Republic, Uganda, Zambia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Canada, Toronto.
