AFRICA/KENYA - Appointment of the National Director of the PMS, Fr. Bonaventure Luchidio

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On November 16, 2017 Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed Fr. Bonaventure Luchidio, of the diocesan clergy of Kakamega, as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in Kenya for a five-year term (2017/2022).
The new National Director was born on June 18, 1975 and was ordained a priest on February 18, 2012. After earning a Masters in Education at the University of Nairobi, he studied philosophy and theology at the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome. He has always been engaged in the field of youth formation, teaching and promotion of their ecclesial commitment. He was also in charge of the Pontifical Society of Missionary Childhood. He is currently parish priest, representative of the deanery of Mukumu in the presbyteral council, of which he is deputy secretary, of the diocese of Kakamega, and vicar forane of Mukumu.
