Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On 28 June 2017 Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed Fr. Esteban Ramon Kross, of the diocesan clergy of Paramaribo (Suriname) as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in the Antilles for five years.
The new National Director was born on December 8, 1963 in Nijmegen (Netherlands) and was ordained a priest on July 2, 1988. After his primary and secondary studies, he carried out his priesthood formation at the Regional Seminary of St. John Vianney & Ugandan Martyrs (1982/87), and then earned a Masters in theology at the Catholic University of Louvain (1987/91). He was parish priest in several parishes, diocesan vocation director, member of the College of Consultors, Episcopal Vicar, Vicar General, administrator of the Cathedral in the diocese of Paramaribo.
