Rome (Fides Service) - Love cannot fail or limit itself or become bored. It must be renewed every day. This is what happens among one particular category men in love: priests “lovers of God”. They too must renew their promise of fidelity to the Lord every day, just like worldly lovers.
This is why the Istituto Sacerdos of the Pontifical Regina Apostolorum College and the Pontifical Institute Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center have organised a spiritual renewal course for priests in Jerusalem under the auspices of the Congregation for the Clergy and the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples
New evangelisation of the world in the third millennium has its fulcrum in the holiness of the priest "bridge" between God and humanity. John Paul II in Pastores Dabo Vobis says the soul of the priestly life is fidelity to the charisma received with anointing.
The aim of the course is to offer priests an opportunity to renew the charisma received in the very places where Christ instituted the priesthood.
The Winter course will be held from 21 January to 9 February 2006, the Summer course will be held from 15 July to 3 August 2006.
The programmes includes: refreshers course in Holy Scripture, priestly spirituality apprenticeship, pastoral workshops, ecumenical meetings, renewal of baptismal and priestly promises, liturgical celebrations, guided visits to Holy Places.
Lectures will be given in English, Italian and Spanish with simultaneous translation.
The goal of the Istituto Sacerdos of the Pontifical Regina Apostolorum College is in depth and on going formation of the clergy. The Pontifical Institute Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center was entrusted by John Paul II to the care of the Legionaries of Christ, in November 2004. It is situated not far from the Holy Sepulchre and is a place of encounter and dialogue for religions, cultures and peoples.
