Harissa (Agenzia Fides) - The annual Synods of the Syro-Catholic Church and the Chaldean Church have begun almost simultaneously.
The Syro-Catholic Bishops, under the presidency of Patriarch Ignatius Youssif III Younan met on Tuesday, October 3, in Harissa (Lebanon), at the patriarchal monastery of Our Lady of Liberation, to begin the annual meeting of the Synodal Assembly, which will continue until Saturday, October 7, and will address issues within the ecclesial community, keeping in mind the emergencies of the condition experienced by Christian communities in the Middle East, devastated by sectarian wars and conflicts.
Instead, in Rome, the work of the annual assembly of the Chaldean Bishops' Synod, under the presidency of Patriarch Louis Raphael Sako, scheduled from 4 to 8 October, will take place. (GV) (Agenzia Fides, 4/10/2017)
