Patna (Agenzia Fides) - The state of Bihar (North-East India) is again submerged by water. This is what the Camillian Task Force (CTF) India told Fides, reporting the deaths of 514 people and of 17.2 million affected in 21 districts. Most of these people represent the socially excluded and economically poorest communities, Dalits and Muslims. The CTF, along with Caritas-India and the Camillian Disaster Service International (CADIS) are responding to this emergency caused by violent floods, providing health support to the four most affected districts of Bihar. "We appeal to you, confreres, friends, benefactors and healthcare volunteers: we ask you to contribute and support this effort with funds and prayers. Keep praying for the victims! Support and encourage our operators and volunteers!", reads the note released by the Camillian religious. (AP) (Agenzia Fides, 5/9/2017)
