Beijing (Fides Service) - A group of Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus from the north eastern Chinese province of Liao Ning paid a visit to the Missionaries of Mary Mediatrix for the Souls in Purgatory who run a Catholic clinic in the village of Xian Xian, HeBei) where there is a Catholic community of 290. The sisters visited the various wards, paediatrics, general medicine, ear nose and throat, radiology and exchanged experience with the clinic staff with regard to pastoral and medical work.
Today the Missionaries of Mary Mediatrix for the Souls in Purgatory are a community of 260 professed sisters and 32 novices active in hospitals and parishes. The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary are 108 and the mother house is in Shen Yang, main town of Liao Ning, they are at the service of the diocese and work in hospitals, homes for the elderly, orphanages or elsewhere at the request of the Bishop. The 78 Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus work mainly in and around Fu Shun, in Liao Ning province, running the clinic, retirement homes and also involved on catechesis and pastoral work in parishes.
