Bogotà (Agenzia Fides) - In several Latin American countries, September is celebrated as the "Month of the Bible" and is marked by various initiatives at all levels to promote reading and the knowledge of the Scriptures and their impact on Christian life. This year, the Center for Evangelization and the Faith of the Colombian Bishops' Conference (CEC) through the Department of Doctrine and Bible has published a booklet: "On the road towards reconciliation".
The President of the Episcopal Commission of the CEC, His Exc. Mgr. Víctor Manuel Ochoa Cadavid, Bishop of Cucuta, explained that this material is intended to help understand and live reconciliation as a necessary step to live as authentic Christians and be artisans of peace. According to the note sent to Fides, the booklet is divided into nine stages. The first three have the doctrinal and theological foundations of reconciliation, according to San Pablo's viewpoint. The other six are an itinerary that show the process of reconciliation and how to live it in fraternal relationships, in the family, as men of government, starting with the figure of King David.
As Mgr. Ochoa Cadavid pointed out, this path is intended to enlighten the reality of our country, so that in identical or similar contexts, reconciliation, forgiveness and peace are established. It is not only a booklet for the month of the Bible, but a tool that can be integrated into the various pastoral actions. (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 18/07/2017)
