AMERICA/VENEZUELA - Plenary Assembly of Bishops: to support the people of God in these difficult moments

Caracas (Agenzia Fides) - From July 7 to 12, the 108th Plenary Assembly of the Bishops' Conference of Venezuela (CEV), attended by 50 Bishops from the 45 ecclesiastical jurisdictions of the country, will be held in Caracas. The Venezuelan Bishops will address important issues regarding the country's crisis, examining the challenges posed by the present situation to the Church and considering the commitment to supporting the people of God at times of vital importance as the present ones.
Cardinal Claudio Hummes, head of the Pan-Amazonian ecclesial network (REPAM) is expected to attend the Assembly. At the end of the Plenary, on July 12, Venezuelan Bishops will publish a pastoral exhortation as a concluding document of the 108th Ordinary Assembly. (CE) (Agenzia Fides, 07/07/2017)
