Montevideo (Agenzia Fides) - As a result of the floods that led to the overflow of the River Uruguay, there are currently 3,700 displaced persons in the north of the Country. The most hit department continues to be Salto, with 1,993 homeless people. Hundreds of thousands of displaced are registered in Paysandú and Artigas. Families are receiving assistance both from a health and food point of view, from local administrations and from the National System for Emergencies (Sinae). (AP) (Agenzia Fides, 8/6/2017)
