AMERICA - Meeting of political leaders of the continent summoned by CELAM

Bogotà (Agenzia Fides) - A group of politicians and leaders of various Latin American parties were summoned for an unprecedented meeting with Bishops, inspired by Pope Francis's thought. The meeting, organized by the Latin American Episcopal Council (CELAM) and the Pontifical Commission for Latin America (CAL), is scheduled from 1 to 3 December 2017 in Bogotá, Colombia. "We want to encourage a dialogue, there will be no conferences or lectures, but spaces of reflection that will allow us to open the paths in order to make our peoples live more peacefully, to seek common good, development, equality and for governments to become more just", said His Exc.
