AFRICA/CAMEROON - Rector appointed for Holy Apostles Propaedeutic and Major Seminary in Yaounde

Vatican City (Fides Service) - Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples on 16 September 2005 Holy Apostles Propaedeutic and Major Seminary in Yaounde Rev. Philippe Alain Mbarga of the diocesan clergy of Mbalmayo.
The new rector was born on 28 January 1968 in Obout, diocese of Mbalmayo. He attended St Paul minor seminary Mbalmayo (1980/87). He studied philosophy at Nkolbison major seminary (1987/90) and theology at the Catholic Institute Yaounde (1991/94). He was ordained a priest on 10 December 1994. He has a doctorate in biblical theology from Fulda Faculty (Germany) and a Diploma in Philosophy from Reims University (France). In Cameroon in 2002/2004 he was secretary to the rector of the Catholic University of Central Africa and Professor of Sacred Scripture at the Catholic Institute Yaounde. (S.L.)
