Lima (Agenzia Fides) - La Fundación Telefónica del Perú (see Fides 2/4/2014) received the Caracol de Plata Award for the campaign against child labor entitled "An appeal to indifference" launched on June 12, 2016 with the goal of making Peruvians aware of a problem affecting 1 out of 4 in the Country. The campaign consisted in changing the voices of the Interactive Voice Response System (IVR) of lines 123 and 104 (Customer Assistance) with the voices of children. Peru is one of the Latin American Countries with the highest rate of child labor: about one and a half million children drop out of school in order to go to work. (AP) (Agenzia Fides, 9/5/2017)
