Rome (Agenzia Fides) - A child out of 3 lives in countries with serious or very serious forms of exclusion. This is what emerged from yesterday's presentation in Rome of the new WeWorld Index. It is an instrument created to measure the inclusion of girls, children, adolescents, and women in the world. 38% of the children and the women of the world, about 2 billion people, lives in countries where there are serious or very serious exclusion.
According to the note sent to Agenzia Fides, between 2016 and 2017 the phenomenon increased to 22 million. If action is not taken immediately, to 2030 with the current pace of women, and the population under 18 who live in Countries where there are serious or very serious exclusion will increase to 286 million (about one billion and 800 thousand current), a number equal to the population of the whole of western Europe.
