Tarapoto (Agenzia Fides) – The 8th Pan-Amazon Social Forum FOSPA opens today 28 April in Tarapoto, Peru. FOSPA is a privileged forum in which to present proposals and alternatives promoted in the Pan-Amazon civil society . Fundamental issues such as territorial matters, human rights, food security, mega projects or cities, and others, will be discussed from a Pan Amazon point of view by the region’s social organisations.
For this 8th FOSPA various ecclesial realities, Amazon region ecclesiastic jurisdictions, religious congregations and pastoral workers, many of which belong to the REPAM network, have confirmed their participation. The aim is to share this public space with as many social organizations as possible, contributing the experience of the particular presence of the Catholic Church in Amazon region.
