Moscow (Agenzia Fides) - Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov received a delegation of Assyrian leaders on the various fronts of the Syrian anti-Assad opposition in Moscow. The delegation was led by Nimrud Suleiman, and was received by Vice-Minister Bogdanov on Wednesday, 19 April. According to reports from Russian media, Suleiman explained to Deputy Minister Bogdanov the political acronyms handled by Christian Assyrians on the future structure of Syria, reiterating the demand to support the political and administrative arrangements that favor the decentralization and the enhancement of diverse ethnic and cultural identities in the Syrian territory. The Russian press presented the meeting as an attempt by Assyrian organizations to find in Russia support in the ever-complex Syrian scenario.
