Thursday, 9 March 2017

Santo Domingo (Agenzia Fides) - The thirteenth Continental Meeting of National Directors of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) of America is taking place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. It started on March 6, with the participation of almost all the National Directors and the Secretary General of the Pontifical Society of St. Peter the Apostle, Father Fernando Dominguez mccj.
The news of this meeting consists of the FODA analysis of reality and the functioning of the PMS in every American country and at a continental level. FODA stands for "Fortaleza" (Strong points), "Opportunity" (positive elements to use), "Weakness" (negative critical factors, to eliminate or reduce) and "Amenazas" (Threats, negative external elements that could hinder the achievement of objectives).
Father Dominguez introduced the new "Ratio fundamentalis institutionis sacerdotalis", and some key characteristics of the recently published document. Therefore he highlighted that POSPA has the task of looking after the formation in major and minor seminaries and novitiates in mission territories. Another issue of the meeting, which ends on March 11, is the preparation for the fifth American Missionary Congress. (CE) (Agenzia Fides, 09/03/2017)
