Caracas (Agenzia Fides) - "The main points to be discussed at the negotiating table are the questions of the people, the tears of the people, what families want to offer to give young people a path with a future", said the Apostolic Nuncio in Venezuela, Mgr. Aldo Giordano to a local television station, TV Venezuela, who talked about the progress of talks between opposition and government.
The representative of the Holy See at the table of dialogue, reported yesterday, January 24, that international observers have the hope of obtaining a common document shared by the national government and the opposition, to revive the process of dialogue.
"There are also other issues such as the autonomy of institutions, elections and the Commission for truth, justice and compensation for victims", continued the Archbishop, according to the note sent to Fides, and concluded by stressing that "the situation of political prisoners is perhaps one of the most urgent and delicate to consider".
