Leticia (Agenzia Fides) - For 6 months a lay Ecuadorean, who has chosen to support one of the works of the traveling group of the Society of Jesuits in the Amazon has been committed to doing voluntary work at the triple border of the Amazon area, the dividing line between Brazil, Colombia and Peru, an area inhabited by ethnic groups: Tikunas, Kukamas, Yaguas, Uitotos. The woman’s experience was made known by Caritas Ecuador, that highlights the commitment carried out in such a fragile area of the American continent.
According to information sent to Fides, her actual work is of a pastoral nature, among the indigenous communities. In her work of evangelization she is concerned to proclaiming faith, starting from formation to Christian values. The woman lives in Leticia, the capital of the department of Amazonas, Colombia, and travels between the cities of Tabatinga (Brazil) and Santa Rosa de Javari (Peru).
