Brisbane (Fides Service) - It is necessary to work harder to improve inter-religious relations in Australia to build better coexistence and increase social harmony : on the basis of this conviction on 19 and 20 November at Griffith University Brisbane there will be an inter-religious seminar with the participation of leaders of the main religions in Australia, members of the Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, Buddhist and Hindu communities.
The seminar will include conferences and group work aimed to increase reciprocal knowledge and understanding in order to preventconflict and situations of violence, develop social responsibility and build friendship and brotherly relations at every level to increase prosperity and harmony in Australian society.
According to the organisers “relations among different religious communities cannot consist only of theological and doctrinal comparison, it must start by eliminating ignorance and prejudice and foster mutual knowledge and exchange at the human level in dialogue of life”.
