ASIA/INDIA - Caritas India opens new internet site entirely dedicated the tsunami disaster a year on: situation, updates, reflections

New Delhi (Fides Service) - A year on from the tragic seaquake in southern Asia on 26 December 2004, Caritas India has opened a special web site dedicated entirely to the tsunami http://www.caritastsunamirelief.com. The web site gives all kinds of information on the situation, humanitarian aid, process of rebuilding, problems and needs, challenges, latest updates as well as reflections.
The main section Rebuilding Lives focuses on the process of rebuilding homes and infrastructures in the affected mainly in southern India and efforts to restore hope to people who lost homes and livelihood.
One section focuses on Work in Progress giving detailed information. For example Caritas programmes in many different areas. Another section is all about types of Aid offered by Caritas, humanitarian, food, medical care, rebuilding homes, psychological trauma counselling.
The web site also shares Stories of Hope by survivors, people who have been reunited with the families and children returned to their parents. There is a also a section for people wanting to make a donation to help Caritas India continue its work in aid of tsunami victims.
