Charlotte (Agenzia Fides) - The Christian Samaritan Purse group, based in North Carolina, United States, is promoting the project "Operation Christmas Child" this year. A group of volunteers collect small gifts, hygiene products and Christian literature texts to be distributed to the most disadvantaged children. However this noble initiative is opposed by the American Humanist Association atheist group (AHA) that does not believe that public school students receive these gifts, which are accompanied by passages from the Gospel. Christian volunteers of the humanitarian Association, however, continue their solidarity campaign. (AP) (Agenzia Fides 23/11/2016)
