AFRICA/DR CONGO - In North Kivu abductions and assaults on military: this is how terrorists of the ADF welcome a UN delegation

Kinshasa (Agenzia Fides) – There have been new attacks of the ADF in different places in the Territory of Beni, in North Kivu, province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in which various armed groups terrorize the population, including the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), of Ugandan origin, who have been in the area for years.
According to information sent to Agenzia Fides, on 12 November at least 12 people were kidnapped in Matukaka, 15 km north-east of Beni (the city that gives its name to the Territory). Two of them managed to escape and said that the group that had kidnapped them was composed of at least 200 guerrillas.
Always on November 12 the ADF attacked another village and military post of the Congolese armed forces. Another attack on a military post was carried out on Sunday night November 13 in Eringeti area.
The new offensive by the terrorists of the ADF occurred on the eve of the visit of a UN Security Council delegation to assess the situation in North Kivu. (L.M.) (Agenzia Fides 15/11/2016)
