Zheng Zhou (Agenzia Fides) - The "Divine Love" youth group of the Diocese of Zheng Zhou, in the province of He Nan, in China Mainland, started the new school year with a singular pilgrimage "at home". According to information sent to Agenzia Fides, don Liu Jiang Dong, spiritual director of the group, led the youth in the pilgrimage to the Immaculate Conception parish of Xu Chang, in their own dioceses. This church bears witness to 200 years of faith and evangelization, a history written with martyrdom, perseverance, sacrifice and dedication.
In his homily the priest encouraged the youth to "make the pilgrimage on foot, as the Catechism of the Young teaches, to experience His life with our senses, in other words, to walk on the path of faith is long and difficult. This pilgrimage is an opportunity to recharge, to renew oneself spiritually, putting oneself under the protection of Our Mother and under the Father’s Mercy". Finally, he invited them to go with all their enthusiasm, towards the path of life, invoking St. Aloysius Gonzaga, patron of youth.
After Mass, the youth cleaned up the premises of the parish, in and out and picked the fruits of the tree in the church yard. (NZ) (Agenzia Fides 20/09/2016)
