Guayaquil (Fides Service) - One of many initiatives promoted on the occasion of Guayaquil Archdiocesan Eucharistic Congress 15 September to 20 November on the theme “Eucharist: heart of the Church and the World”, was the 7th Congress for Catholic University Students with the slogan “Do not be afraid, Christ takes nothing but he gives all!”. The two day congress, held at the Santiago Catholic University, Guayaquil, 29 and 30 October, and organised by the Movement of Christian Life, brought together more than 400 students from universities all over the country. The aim of the Congress was to offer students an opportunity to reflect on Christian life and how to bear witness to the faith in the university environment. The congress programme included conferences, debates, work groups and plenary assemblies for discussion. Guayaquil Archdiocesan Eucharistic Congress is being held for a long period to help Catholics of every walk of life take an active and profitable part. The Congress programme includes doctrinal reflections, liturgical celebrations and proposals for ecclesial commitment. (RZ) (Agenzia Fides 5/11/2005, righe 13, parole 192)
