Fianarantsoa (Agenzia Fides) - The progress in the former leper colony of Ilena village, seven kilometers from Fianarantsoa continues (see Fides 29/09/2015). This is what Father Albert Rainiherinoro, MI told Fides. "After starting a school, a clinic, development micro-projects and environmental projects, since 16 November 2013, at the top of Ilena hill, where now the Tower of Lady Salus Infirmorum was built, has become a place of pilgrimage. The discovery of the remains of chicken bones and a bottle containing even local rum, prompted us to investigate and to think of building a place dedicated to Lady Salus Infirmorum, which is part of the spirituality of the great Camillian family. This Tower is a reminder of the jubilee year of the birth in heaven of St. Camillus and was blessed on August 16, 2014".
"Three times a year - continues father Albert - there are pilgrimages to celebrate the World Day of the Sick, the Assumption and the Saturday closest to the celebration of the feast of Our Lady Salus Infirmorum. The place is not reserved only to those who are suffering but to all those who are animated by faith", writes the Camillian. "Maria Salus Infirmorum! Here we are, watch over us", is the sentence of the prayer carved on the tombstone at the foot of the Tower; a simple yet profound prayer. (AR/AP) (Agenzia Fides 06/09/2016)
