Ciudad Juarez (Agenzia Fides) - From Ciudad Juarez (Mexico), 15 Bishops of the dioceses of the border area between the United States and Mexico, attended the celebration for the defense of the family and migrants. According to the note sent to Fides, about 18 thousand people on Saturday evening, September 3, attended the Mass presided by His Exc. Mgr. Jose Guadalupe Torres Campos, Bishop of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua at the El Punto Convention Centre.
"We cannot remain indifferent to the voice of God who today through the Eucharist continues talking to us. In the Gospel, God speaks to Joseph in a dream and gives a very concrete indication: Get up, take your family and take care of it and Joseph listens to the voice of God, takes his family, and goes to Egypt to take care and protect his family from the enemy", said the Bishop in his homily, "we too must follow the voice of God".
On the same altar built for the celebration of Pope Francis for migrants, during his visit to Mexico, in addition to Mgr. Torres, the Secretary of the Mexican Episcopal Conference, some Bishops of Mexico and the United States concelebrated Mass. This Mass was the final celebration of the "March for families", organized in favor of many Mexican families divided by the border, and in the program of events for the Year of Mercy.
