Caracas (Agenzia Fides) – On Sunday, July 17 Children's Day was celebrated in Venezuela. The spirit that moved Venezuelan families to celebrate this day was all concentrated on faith in God, optimism, on the hope that better times will come. The testimonies collected by the local newspaper "Efecto Cocuyo" report a childhood where there is hunger, poverty, precarious health care. About 20% of young Venezuelans, in fact, suffer from malnutrition, according to Bengoa Foundation, and many die because there are no medicines. "We do not need to be wealthy to make our children feel special", said the president of the Network for Human Rights of Children and Adolescents. This day was an opportunity to promote the value of family, communication and joy, that children adore sharing with the people they love. (AP) (Agenzia Fides 18/07/2016)
